71st Independence Day: Winds of change in Haryana under BJP government, says Manohar Lal Khattar

GURUGRAM (INDIA): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that efforts of his government have led to efficient governance and eliminating corruption.nn”As a result of concerted efforts made by the present government, the winds of change are blowing and the people have seen results in over 1,025 days,” he said while addressing a gathering on the 71st Independence Day here.nnKhattar unfurled the tricolour and took salute from various contingents including those of the Haryana Armed Police and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).nnHe said that with the adoption of e-technology in the state, the efficiency of the government has increased and it has been able to eliminate corruption.nn”Since the inception of the state, the recruitment in government jobs had been infested with nepotism, corruption, regionalism and casteism, but now jobs are being given on the basis of merit. Our government has infused confidence among those youth who were fed up with the corrupt system prevailing earlier,” he said.nnThe chief minister expressed gratitude to the people of the state for trusting him and said he too has tried to take steps to ensure overall development of at an accelerated pace.nnHe said that the government is emphasising on increasing metro connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) lying in Haryana.nnMeanwhile, Khattar also pressed for setting up a separate high court for the state in the Punjab and Haryana High Court building in Chandigarh, dividing the area in the ratio of 60:40, an official release said.nnThe ratio of judges should be 50:50 until the issue of a court for Chandigarh Administration is settled, he said in the release.nnThe chief minister said that Haryana has had more cases in the high court and that he has asked the Supreme Court to increase the number of judges.nnA letter has also been written to the Chief Justice of the apex court to set up a separate bench of the High Court in southern Haryana, the release said.nnOn the issue of shortage of doctors in Haryana, Khattar said that 550 doctors had already been recruited and they would soon join their duties.nnHe said that a scheme based on remote sensing was being prepared to make available potable water to the residents of Gurgaon.nnAll street lights in the city would be replaced with LEDs to reduce power consumption. An amount of Rs 33 crore would be incurred on this project and a Central Control Monitor has also been approved for the purpose, he said.
