The central and state governments have already given reservation benefits to many children’s fathers and grandfathers; these children are still benefiting from them, and many people are unhappy about this. Despite being aware that a large number of people are unhappy, the central government and the lawmakers who make the decisions or make the laws in Parliament are not taking action because they are afraid of losing their seats or their authority to rule because if they do, they might lose the next election.
So, before you encounter my words on the benefits of reservations from the central government and state governments, I would like to say that I and #NationalPoliticalMirror, the world’s only weekly political magazine and India’s sole independent media house, are not against reservations, but rather I and National Political Mirror support reservations, and they should be available to only those who are Socially and Educationally Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections (whose annual income is between Rs 1.50 lakhs in rural areas and Rs 2.50 lakhs to 3 lakhs in city areas) to get a reservation.
This is not the first case of forgery, but other central and state government officials, as well as landlords’ children, have been involved in the same forgery of income certificates in order to obtain reservation facilities in the central civil servant test, which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) , and the state civil servant exam, which is conducted by the State Public Service Commission. Even more recently, leading newspaper “India Express”, in its report on July 19, investigates 104 EWS quota selections in Civil Services 2025 — IIT grads, private school students, business families among those who made the cut through its headline “Elite school alums, MNC staff, businessmen’s sons on #UPSC ‘poor’ list”
Let’s get started and I would like to begin by praising Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for taking action on July 13 in a Congress-ruled state after receiving a complaint.
Following the acts of Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on the complaint, Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Chairman Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar was suspended due to accusations that he had assisted in the unlawful selection of his two daughters as Industrial Extension Officers. This incident made national news. Additionally, he acted in response to reports alleging that Sahukar had assisted in the illegal appointment of his two daughters as industrial extension officers.
By the way, the Karnataka government was elected to both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on the BJP ticket. Thawar Chand Gehlot represented Shajapur in the Lok Sabha from 1996 until 2009.
Thawar Chand Gehlot lost the Lok Sabha election to Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma in 2009. He then became a Rajya Sabha member in 2012 and was re-elected to the Upper House of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh in 2018.
Finally, I would like to end my words by saying that the central government appears to be silent despite knowing through mainstream media and social media reports that income certificate forgery is going on by sons and daughters of businessmen, IIT graduates, and alumni of private schools in the city charging over a lakh a year in fees to get benefits in civil service exams to become IAS, IPS, IFS, and other states’ civil servants.
