NEW DELHI: India’s Agriculture and Farmers? Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh met separately with Bai Lamin Jobe, Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Gambia and Henry Mussa, Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Malawi.nnThe Agriculture Minister said the Indian community living in Gambia plays a vital role in the economic progress and development of the nation and the Government of Gambia must utilize their capabilities so that trade and economic relations between the two countries can be furthered.nnReiterating India?s commitment, Singh said agriculture is an important sector to increase cooperation between the two countries and India is willing to provide technical assistance to Gambia.nnThe Agriculture Minister said Gambia imports onion, wheat, meslin flour, vegetable fats, oil, sugar etc. from other countries.nnHe said India can export all these agricultural commodities. Meanwhile, he thanked the Government of Gambia for accepting India?s Duty Free Tariff Preference (DFTP) scheme and hoped Gambia will take advantage of this scheme by increasing its exports to India.nnThe Agriculture Minister also met Henry Mussa, Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Malawi and expressed hope that this meeting will help increase mutual cooperation between the two countries.
