Manipur gets its first BJP government as Biren Singh takes oath

NEW DELHI (INDIA): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader N. Biren Singh has become the first-everchief minister of Manipur after taking oath along with eight other ministers in capital Imphal.nnSingh has the support of a coalition of 32 MLAs.nnBJP emerged as the second largest party in the state after the Congress which has 28 seats but couldn?t muster the support of required 31 MLAs in the 60-member Manipur legislative assembly.nnFormer chief minister and Congress leader Okram Ibobi Singh was also present at the swearing-in ceremony.
