Was attack on Delhi Chief Secretary pre-planned?

NEW DELHI: The police suspect that the alleged midnight assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs in February was pre-planned, said a senior officer privy to the probe.nnThe police have questioned 11 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and close aides of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, including his private secretary Bibhav Kumar, in connection with the incident.nnKumar and an AAP volunteer from Mainpuri, Vivek Yadav, were grilled for five hours today.nn”They came to the Civil Lines police station for the questioning at 4 pm. Kumar had asked Yadav to call the MLAs for the midnight meeting at the chief minister’s residence where the assault had taken place,” said the officer.nn”It appears that the assault was pre-planned,” he said.nnKumar and Yadav are close to Kejriwal and the police have found that Yadav coordinates with the MLAs on behalf of the chief minister.nnIn his complaint, Prakash had said, “… the assault was premeditated and a conspiracy of all (those) present with the intention to criminally intimidate, cause hurt with the motive to deter me from the discharge of my lawful duty and compel me to follow unlawful directions. None of the persons present in the room made any effort to save me.”nnThe police had questioned Kumar for three hours yesterday.nnThey have already quizzed the 11 MLAs who were present at the chief minister’s residence when Prakash was assaulted.nnKejriwal, his former advisor V K Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present there.nnOn February 23, a police team had examined the CCTV system installed at the chief minister’s residence in the Civil Lines area and seized the hard disk. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited.nnThe alleged assault on the chief secretary had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucracy.nnSource: Press Trust of India
