Apna Dal wins more seats than Congress in Uttar Pradesh

NEW DELHI (INDIA): Congress which contested on 105 seats in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections could manage to win only seven seats, where BJP ally Apna Dal (Soneylal) Apna Dal (Soney Lal) bagged nine out of the 12 assembly seats.nnCongress has contested election with Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party.nnAnupriya Patel, President of Apna Dal (Soneylal), is a minister in BJP-led Narendra Modi Cabinet.nnThe party led by Patel, who is a Union minister in the NDA government at the Centre, had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls in alliance with BJP.nnAt the end of vote counting, the BJP bagged 312 seats on its own with a nearly 40 per cent vote share and with allies Apna Dal (Soneylal Patel) and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (won 4 seats) (SBSP) their strength goes up to 324 in a House of 403.
