DB Gupta appointed chief secretary of Rajasthan

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer DB Gupta was appointed as the new chief secretary of Rajasthan today, a government release said.nnA 1983-batch officer, Gupta was serving as the additional chief secretary, finance, excise and taxation department.nnGupta, who hails from Jaipur, has held important posts, including those of the district collector of Sirohi and Ajmer, commissioner of the Jaipur Development Authority and principal secretary of major departments in the state government.nnHe has an MA in Economics and also holds an MBA degree.nnGupta replaces N C Goel, who completed four months as the chief secretary.
