Delhi Congress holds rally against “illegal sealing” in capital
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Congress held a rally Sunday against “illegal sealing” of industries and accused the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of destroying such establishments in the city.nnDelhi Congress president Ajay Maken, who participated in the ‘Lalkar’ rally at Bawana industrial area here, said the party would come out with a post-mortem report on illegal sealing, unemployment, and price rise, to highlight the failures of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre.nnMaken said the industrial plots at Bawana industrial area should be allowed to be converted into freehold without any pre-condition.nn”Whenever non-Congress governments came to power in Delhi and at the Centre, they did not develop even a single new industrial area and ruined the local industries,” he charged.nnMaken claimed the Congress had developed 54 industrial areas, out of which 22 were regularised, when it was in power.nnThe participants of the rally, including Congress workers and local factory labourers, also set on fire government notices to terminate the lease deeds at the Bawana industrial area.nnSenior Congress leaders Sajjan Kumar and Mukesh Sharma, addressing the rally, said thousands of people would be left jobless if the Delhi government did not withdraw the notices issued to cancel the lease deeds without any pre-condition.nnThey said the sealing drive in the ‘Lal Dora’ areas by the municipal corporations was harming Delhi villages.nnA resolution was passed in the rally demanding allotment of flats made under the Rajiv Awas Yojna scheme to labourers, plots in industrial area to villagers for land acqusition and jobs to landless people.nnSource: Press Trust of India
