NEW DELHI (INDIA):Welcoming the GST era, IIT Delhi Alumni Association (IITDAA) President Prabhat Kumar said that Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi ji has shown that how a determined government can bring out changes using all the ingredients of change management propounded by management gurus.nn?The sense of urgency which has been created is unprecedented and the way it’s being implemented is memorable. No stone has been left unturned,? he said at GST workshop in IIT Delhi campus.nnRecently, IIT Delhi Alumni Association has organised workshop on GST at IIT Delhi campus where 400 alumni were present along with Senior officials from CBEC.nnThis GST workshop by IITDAA was an attempt to address these concerns, plug the gaps and remove the information asymmetry concerning GST.nnGST (Goods and Services Tax), India’s most ambitious tax reform since independence was launched by the Narendra Modi government on 1 st July.,nnAt workshop, more than 10,000 persons connected on webcast and Facebook.nn”On the mid night of June 30th, we again had a tryst with destiny moment, when we moved to a tax regime which unified India as one tax, one market and one nation. When the internal trade barriers fell and when the ground for the tax offenders and tax terrorists shrunk. Today we are moving to a regime which creates a value chain for suppliers of goods and services and customers,? he added.nn?Implementing GST is a major challenge for all the stakeholders from government to suppliers of goods and services and consumers. There are many grey areas, confusions and apprehensions in the minds of a large no of stakeholders,? said IITDAA.nn?It was very beneficial to the start-ups, medium and small industries, entrepreneurs and IIT Alumnus at large in dispelling their misgivings towards this largest and ambitious indirect tax reforms after Independence targeting for One Tax one Nation,? it said.nn
