Since I excel in research, as I dedicate time to reading before writing any story or tweet, and while reading an article on the 2.5-year formula regarding the sharing of the chief minister’s chair in Chhattisgarh between Bhupesh Baghel and T.S. Singh Deo since the 2018 assembly polls, I found insights into the discussions held between them and top leaders of the Congress party regarding the selection of the next Chief Minister.
So some Congress leaders from Chhattisgarh believe that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may have accurate information against Chaitanya Baghel, the son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in a liquor-linked money laundering case.
Chaitanya Baghel, the son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday morning after the ED conducted searches at Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s Bhilai residence in connection with an alleged Rs 2,161 crore liquor scam involving his son, Chaitanya Baghel. However, Congress leaders from Chhattisgarh claim that the liquor scam is worth more than Rs 2,161 crore.
But the question now is where the liquor scam money went. According to my information, with liquor scam money, Bhupesh Baghel was retained as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh until 2023 because he was appointed for 2-5 years and the remaining 2.5 years would go to T.S. Singh Deo, Tamradhwaj Sahu, or Charandas Mahant.
When Bhupesh Baghel was scheduled to complete his 2.5-year out-of-five-year mandate as Chief Minister on June 17, 2021, he was summoned to Delhi, but he arrived with a list in which he stated that he is obligated to these names. So, thanks to his list, he was able to continue as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh until 2023.
Since Bhupesh Baghel obliged several Congress leaders in Delhi, he is now seeking their backing, claiming that his son’s arrest as ‘illegal’ and a calculated act of intimidation to ‘break me’.
