IAS officer Rajive Kumar takes over as Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh
NEW DELHI (INDIA): Senior IAS officer Rajive Kumar takes over as Chief Secretary from Rahul Bhatnagar, who is shifted to Greater Noida as chairman, and investment commissioner of Uttar Pradesh in New Delhi.nnAccording to report, he is enjoying a good rapport with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar is also said to be close to the PM’s principal secretary Nripendra Mishra.nnKumar belongs to the 1981 Batch of IAS, Uttar Pradesh Cadre. He holds a Post- Graduate Degree in Physics as well as a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard.nnIn UP, he has held the charge of principal secretary, village development, and other important posts. He went to the Central deputation during the previous SP government.nnHe has handled several key assignments in the State including Urban and Rural Development, Personnel, District Administration and a long stint in the Industrial Development Sector serving as Chief Executive Officer in several State PSUs.nnHe has also held important positions in Government of India as Special Secretary/Additional Secretary in Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Joint/Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat and Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
