LJP MP, six others acquitted in kidnapping case
NEW DELHI (INDIA): LJP Lok Sabha MP Rama Kishore Singh and six others were today acquitted in a 25-year-old kidnapping case by a court in Bihar’s Vaishali district due to lack of evidence against them.nnAdditional District Judge (ADJ)-IV Bholanath Tiwari acquitted Singh and six others after 10 witnesses refused to identify them during the trial in the kidnapping case.nnAccording to the prosecution, a school boy Manish Kayal was kidnapped from outside a public school by unidentified persons on September 9, 1992.nnThe boy’s father, Madan Kayan, had lodged an FIR at Town police station against the seven persons, including Rama Singh, then a strongman from Mahnar region of Vaishali district, for abduction of his son for ransom.nnThe boy was later rescued by the police.nnThe LJP Lok Sabha MP from Vaishali said that he was relieved at being acquitted in the kidnapping case which, he claimed, was the final case pending against him.nnSource: Press Trust of India
