Narendra Modi lays foundation stones for projects worth Rs 27,000 crore in Jharkhand
NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone of various projects of the Government of India and Government of Jharkhand, at an event in Sindri. These include:nnRevival of Sindri Fertilizer Project of Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd.nRanchi City Gas Distribution Project by GAILnAll India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), DeogharnDevelopment of Deoghar AirportnPatratu Super Thermal Power ProjectnnHe also witnessed the Exchange of MoUs for Jan AushadhiKendras.nnAddressing the gathering, the Prime Minister paid homage to BhagwanBirsa Munda. He said that the State Government and the Union Government are working together for the rapid development of Jharkhand.nnHe said the total cost of the projects, for which foundation stones have been laid today, is Rs. 27,000 crore. He said these development projects will give opportunities to the youth of Jharkhand.nnHe said that when he assumed office, there were 18,000 villages lacking access to electricity. We worked to brighten the lives of people in these villages and took electricity there, he added. Now, we have gone a step further and we are ensuring every household in India has access to electricity, he said.nnHe said fertiliser plants which had stopped working are in the process of being revived. Eastern India will gain the most from this, he added.nnThe Prime Minister said that the healthcare sector in the State will be transformed with the establishment of AIIMS in Jharkhand. The poor will get access to top quality healthcare, he added.nnThe Prime Minister said that the Union Government has made air-travel accessible and affordable.nnJharkhand Governor Draupdi Murmu, Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Union Power Minister R K Singh, Minister of State for Health Ashwani Choubey and Dhanbad MP P N Singh were present at the event.
