NEW DELHI (INDIA): The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has spoken to the Chief Minister of Assam Shri Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday and today regarding the flood situation in the state.nnThe Prime Minister tweeted that the Central Government has been closely and constantly monitoring the situation and that all possible support is being provided to Assam for overcoming the flood situation prevailing in parts of the state.nn?Ever since Assam has witnessed flooding, the Central Government has been closely and constantly monitoring the situation.nnAll possible support is being provided to Assam for overcoming the flood situation prevailing in parts of the state.? the Prime Minister said.nnAs per the IndiaToday, at least 15 people have died till Sunday due to incessant rains that have worsened the flood situation in Assam.nnAccording to Times of India, about 21 of 33 districts that have been hit by flood. This is the second wave of flood that has hit the state. The first wave which lasted from April to July claimed 85 lives and hit nearly 19 lakh population.nnThe Assam government has set up 678 relief camps and relief distribution centres across the affected districts, according to the Assam Disaster Management Authority (ADMA). More than 22 lakh people are reeling under these floods with 1.83 lakh given shelter in relief camps.
