Sudeep Lakhtakia to hold additional charge as DG CRPF

NEW DELHI (INDIA): A 1984-batch Telangana cadre IPS officer Sudeep Lakhtakia, the Additional Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), is likely to take additional charge as Director General (DG) from today.nnThis follows the retirement of K. Durga Prasad as the CRPF Director General.nnThe Home Ministry said Lakhtakia will hold the additional charge till a successor to Prasad is named. A 1981-batch Telangana cadre IPS officer, Prasad retired on Tuesday from India’s largest paramilitary force. He had held the post since February 2, 2016.nn”Consequent upon the retirement of superannuation of K.Durga Prasad, IPS (TG:81) DG,CRPF, the Competent Authority in this Ministry has approved that Sudeep Lakhtakia, IPS (TG:84), Additional DG, CRPF will hold the additional charge of the post of Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) w.e.f. tomorrow till the appointment and joining of regular successor,” the offcial statement said.nnLakhtakia, a 1984-batch IPS officer, joined the CRPF in June 2016.
