Before I say anything else, I would like to say that a friend and classmate of mine from Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) contested a Panchayat poll in his village in Uttar Pradesh even though he knew he would lose. Following the poll results, he received just 98 votes in his village and lost the election.
However, he was and still is happy because he is now well-known in every house and village and helps them whenever they need it, even though he lost the election. It was brave of him to run against powerful people in the poll; it shows that needy people are more important than powerful people for the benefit of the masses.
So, as promised yesterday, I will tell you about the Jan Suraj Party claim. So I believe many people heard and read through news channels or news reports that years ago, members of a regional political party were looting polling booths and casting fake votes in polling booths in Bihar, but in 2025, under a national political party, its members hijacked three Jan Suraj Party party candidates who were supposed to run in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections, and trends began with the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls.
I used the word ” hijacked ” after giving it a lot of thought in the first paragraph of this short editorial. It was necessary, and I used it to strengthen India’s democracy, because leaders of a national political party have said or used the words “polling booths looted” many times at election rallies or press conferences, and they are still saying or using those words under the leadership of a regional political party in Bihar.
I know many people believe that all four candidates have withdrawn their nominations based on their own decisions. If you think that, you are mistaken. Let me explain why you are all wrong.
It is a dream for everyone who is passionate about politics and doing ground politics and is always on the street with needy people, and they want to contest an election as independent candidates if they do not receive tickets from the political party to which they belong, and they run even though they know they will lose, and many were or are willing to pay crores for an Assembly or Lok Sabha ticket from a political party.
And if you don’t believe me, ask the head of the political party to respond to my statements using the live lie detector.
And I always write here what I hear from top people and locals, but I never mention names; that’s part of my journalism ethics, because I told you I don’t believe in making personal comments on politicians, which many news anchors do in order to keep their jobs and personal benefits, as otherwise they lose their monthly pay of more than a lakh from big corporate media houses.
Trust me, a three-year-old party under Prashant Kishor is poised to become the third most popular national political party after the #BJP and #Congress in the coming years. So far, three Jan Suraaj Party candidates have withdrawn their nominations, and their names are given below.
1: Jan Suraaj candidate #AkhileshKumar (Mutur Sao) allegedly went missing before filing his nomination papers with the Danapur assembly.
2: Dr Satya Prakash Tiwari, a Jan Suraaj Party candidate, has withdrawn his nomination for the Brahmapur Vidhan Sabha constituency in Bihar.
3: Shashi Shekhar Sinha, a candidate for the Jan Suraaj Party, has withdrawn his nomination from the Gopalganj Vidhan Sabha constituency.
