National Political Mirror’s editorial for March 30th

Before sharing my thoughts on the March 30 press conference regarding the interministerial briefing on recent developments in #WestAsia, which took place at the National Media Center in #NewDelhi, I would like to mention that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will visit the Netherlands soon, as I came to know from the #Netherlands' Prime Minister #RobJetten's tweets, where he mentioned in his last sentence that he looks forward to welcoming him to the Netherlands soon so we can make further progress.

Before sharing my thoughts on the March 30 press conference regarding the interministerial briefing on recent developments in #WestAsia, which took place at the National Media Center in #NewDelhi, I would like to mention that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will visit the Netherlands soon, as I came to know from the #Netherlands’ Prime Minister #RobJetten’s tweets, where he mentioned in his last sentence that he looks forward to welcoming him to the Netherlands soon so we can make further progress.

Additionally, on March 30 at 5:29 p.m., Rob Jetten, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, shared the news with the world via Twitter following a phone conversation with Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not mention his upcoming visit to the Netherlands in his 8:50 pm tweet on March 30. However, he did mention a phone call with the Dutch Prime Minister to strengthen India-Netherlands ties and discuss the current West Asia situation.

Let’s get right to the point: two Indian-flagged ships carrying LPG are arriving in India after crossing the Strait of Hormuz, according to information provided by Narendar Modi’s government officials during the March 30 Inter-Ministerial Briefing on Recent Developments in West Asia press conference at the National Media Center.

“Two vessels BW TYR and BW ELM carrying LPG cargo of about 94114 MT safely transited Strait of Hormuz on 28 March 2026. BW TYR is carrying 47115 MT LNG and is heading scheduled to arrive Mumbai tomorrow, 31.03.2026 PM and BW ELM is carrying LPG cargo of 46999 MT and is planned to reach New Mangalore on 01.04.2026 PM hours,” according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas’s press release, which was published by PIB on its official website on 30 March at 5:27 PM.

In the meantime, there is a catch: 18 Indian-flagged vessels carrying around 485 Indian sailors remain in the western Persian Gulf region.

However, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas’s press release, which was published by PIB on its official website on 30 March at 5:27 PM, “18 Indian-flagged vessels with around 485 Indian seafarers remain in the western Persian Gulf region, reflecting a reduction from 20 vessels with 540 seafarers over the last 72 hours. The Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) continues close monitoring in coordination with shipowners, RPSL agencies and Indian Missions.”

I would like to conclude by stating that Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed gratitude to the people of India for Narendra Modi’s government’s prompt support through his tweets on March 29 at 1:20 pm. The Narendra Modi government provided 38,000 MT of fuel to Sri Lanka, which arrived in Colombo on March 28.

NOTE: The Persian Gulf, often known as the #ArabianGulf, is a West Asian Mediterranean Sea. Situated between #Iran (#Persia) and the #ArabianPeninsula, the body of water is an extension of the #ArabianSea and the wider #IndianOcean. The #StraitOfHormuz connects it to the Gulf of Oman in the east. The northwest coastline is formed by the Shatt al-Arab river delta.

I have also included the tweets that were tweeted by leaders in the table below.

1: Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Sri Lanka President ( @anuradisanayake)

Spoke with PM #narendramodi a few days ago about the fuel supply disruptions Sri Lanka is facing due to the Middle East conflict. Grateful for India’s swift support. 38,000 MT of fuel arrived in Colombo yesterday. My thanks also to EAM @DrSJaishankar for his close coordination.

2: Rob Jetten, Prime Minister of the Netherlands ( @MinPres )

Our ties with India are growing stronger and stronger. Earlier this year, the EU and India concluded a major trade agreement, and the Netherlands and India are developing a strategic partnership that includes defence, water management, innovation and trade. With everything going on in the world at the moment, now is the time to strengthen our cooperation.

Prime Minister #narendramodi of India and I discussed this in an introductory phone conversation today. I look forward to welcoming him to the Netherlands soon so we can make further progress on these issues.

3: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.

Pleased to speak with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten today. We discussed ways to further strengthen India-Netherlands ties.

Highlighted the potential of our partnership in areas such as semiconductors, mega water projects, green hydrogen and talent mobility.
